Gabe Sunnell
Gabe Sunnell is a dedicated coach and mentor with a deep-rooted passion for wrestling. As the Head Coach of the Tualatin Youth Wrestling Club, Gabe brings a wealth of experience and commitment to fostering young athletes' growth in the sport.
A family man, Gabe and his wife, Erika, are proud parents of five boys, all of whom actively participate in wrestling. This family-wide dedication underscores their belief in the sport's value in building character and resilience.
Professionally, Gabe serves as a Plumbing Foreman and Project Manager with Anderson Mechanical, where he applies his leadership skills and attention to detail to manage complex projects.
Gabe's coaching journey is extensive. He volunteers his time not only with the Tualatin Youth Wrestling Club but also with All-Phase Wrestling and as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Tualatin High School. His commitment to the sport is further highlighted by his role as an Assistant Coach for the Oregon Youth National Team in Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling since 2022.
Gabe's own wrestling background includes being a three-time OSAA Wrestling State Placer and competing as a team member at Clackamas Community College from 1998 to 1999.
His dedication to coaching and mentorship has not only impacted many young athletes but also his own children. Notably, his son, Logan Sunnell, overcame significant adversity to become Tualatin High School's first-ever wrestling state champion in 2024.
Gabe's unwavering commitment to wrestling and his community continues to inspire and shape the next generation of athletes.
